Five Months Old Today!
Well, we are so thankful for how many things have gotten so much better over the past five months. Sydney is so much happier now that her ulcer is a lot smaller and the larger area has new skin growth. Baths are fun now! The water does not sting anymore! Yay! Syd is barely ever fussy now - just at naptime, which she will do on the guest bed with help to soothe her to sleep. She definitely needs her naps to stay happy and lets us know when she is ready to have one! :)

Ryan in Florida
Well, Sydney and I were very thankful this Thanksgiving to have Ryan back from his five-day trip to Florida to visit Eric and attend Jaysan's wedding. He had a great time, and I definitely missed having him and his amazing help at home while he was away. Eric took Ryan out on his boat to downtown Jacksonville one night, and although I hear that it was very cold and the water choppy, it still looks like fun to me!

Busy Girl! :)
As I was driving Sydney back from an appointment this afternoon, it occurred to me that in two weeks time she will have had four different doctor's appointments - two laser treatments on her ulcer, one four-month wellness exam, and today's pediatric opthamologist exam. All of her doctors are so knowledgeable and do such an incredible job with Syd. Today's eye exam was so wonderful and such an answer to prayer- the hemangioma under her eye is not impairing her vision at all. Her eyes were dialated for the exam, and she did such a great job and wasn't fussy - even with us being there for an hour and a half. I am so proud of her! She was worn out, though, I think, for she is cozily sleeping behind me right now on the guest bed, with thunderstorm noises blasting from my IMac to act as white noise. Getting her down for naps seems to work if Ryan or myself lay down with her until she snoozes. :) Oh, and by the way, the wellness exam that I mentioned also was wonderful - last Monday she was 13 lbs., 3.5 oz., and our early-bird girl placed well on the full-term four month babies comparison chart. She is at 45% for weight, 25% for height (23.5"), and 60% for head circumference (16.25"). We are so very thankful that she is doing so well! :)

Our Little Pumpkin :)
We were excited to take Sydney on Halloween to Ryan's work for the first time! Late afternoon is a fussy/tired time (especially with afternoon naps being a challenge for our sweet girl), and she did end up sleeping as I held her in Ryan's cubicle... she even slept through all trick-or-treaters (between 80-100) who came by that night, as Ryan had greatly muted the doorbell with masking tape! :)
