Playground playtime

Sydney has enjoyed lots of time this summer at the amazing playground down the street from us. She really enjoys this tunnel and is quite the explorer... which keeps me on my toes! Here are some pictures from her adventures there today. :)

Baby Room Makeovers

We recently started switching out rooms to make room for Baby #2! Our third bedroom that housed two duties as the office/guest room was emptied... with furniture from that room dispersed in our room, the garage, and basement. Ryan painted over the pebble mosaic walls (dark green) to the lavender shade seen here. As you can also see, we have a name for this special girl on the way, Mackenzie. I really want to call her Kenzie for short. We are still debating on a middle name, but are leaning towards my middle name, Elise. :)
So, Mackenzie has Sydney's former furniture- her crib, changing table and swing - and we will move the glider in there when she arrives. Sydney received some big girl furniture in its place, and her room feels so grown-up now! Speaking of being grown-up, Sydney started walking today!!!!!!! When Ryan came home, he got her to take a few steps to him, and then she just started walking everywhere! :)

New car for us!

We had thought about how nice it would be to have more room in the car for two baby girls, and Ryan was so thoughtful to have found this cool 2008 Mazda CX-9 for us! He test drove it on the way to work one morning and bought it that same afternoon! I was so excited when he brought it home, and it is so much fun to drive! I look forward to every time we can hop in the car to go around town. :)

I like it!

Standing up!

Sydney is getting more and more confident about standing up unsupported, and we are watching for those first steps! She is thirteen months old now! We joined our neighborhood pool and go often. At first, I thought she and I would hang out in the wading pool, but she loves being in the big pool... which is fun for me, too! :)

Only one hand on the walker!
